Norfolk, with its famous flat landscape, and East to West coastline provides endless views of Big Skies above, with little interruption. Beautiful sunrises in the East, stunning sunsets in the West with everything in between, attracting Artists and Photographers alike. Norfolk has the darkest of skies and is one of the few places in the UK to spot the Northern Lights (aurora borealis). For stargazers, there are 4 sites that have been awarded Dark Sky Status due to ultra low levels of light pollution, all of which are located on the North Norfolk coast. Kelling Heath Holiday Park at Weybourne, Wiveton Downs at Glandford with its elevated heathland, RSPB Titchwell Manor Reservation which by day attract bird watchers, and star gazers at night, with its 360* views of the horizon and Barrow Common at Brancaster, with an ancient mound, that was a WW2 look out point.
