The original Swiss designed mating box.These popular beekeeping hives are made of hard Styrofoam. They are easy to use, stack and transport. They are also durable. They come with three flat packed frames which are easily assembled. Foundation guide strips (not supplied) need fitting into the frames with dots of molten wax before being placed inside the mini hive. Aeration screens and excluders can be fitted as necessary. The box comes with a mini feeder which can be filled with fondant or syrup, as preferred. The box mating box is now ready for use.If necessary, the bees can also remain in the APIDEA mating hives for a number of weeks. Additions to the basic mating box are possible. The inhive feeder can be removed providing space for two extra frames. A Feeder Super can also be fitted above the Brood Chamber, which will hold approx. 1.2 kg of fondant. Additional brood space can also be added with a five frame Brood Chamber Super.
