Mature Alder Trees

Description Mature Alder (Alnus glutinosa) Alder is a true native of Ireland, thriving where many trees cannot. Supplied WRB (Wire Root Balled), each tree should be planted with the hessian net and wire in place to protect roots and encourage strong establishment. Found naturally along Irish rivers and wetlands, the alder enriches soil by fixing nitrogen, supports wildlife with its catkins and cone-like fruits, and provides shelterbelts for rural and coastal landscapes. Available from November through March/April in the bare root season, mature alder trees are an excellent choice for resilience, biodiversity, and natural beauty.
