Description Mature Native Cherry (Prunus avium) Also known as the Wild Cherry, Prunus Avium is one of Ireland’s most beautiful native trees. Supplied as WRB (Wire Root Balled), these cherries must be planted with their hessian netting and wire in place to protect the roots and support successful establishment. In spring, the tree erupts in delicate white blossom, followed by glossy green summer foliage and fiery autumn colour. Its cherries provide a food source for birds and wildlife, making it both ornamental and ecologically valuable. Available November through March/April, during the bare root season, mature native cherry trees bring instant beauty and biodiversity to Irish gardens and landscapes.
