Mindelo Top Digital Sewing Pattern (PDF)

Yet another great pattern — I completed the Mindelo top in under two days! The construction was smooth and enjoyable, and I made a small but impactful alteration: I added a ruffle to the neckline. This was easy to do since the pattern already includes a facing, which made it simple to sandwich the ruffle in neatly. The highlight of this pattern is absolutely the back darts — they’re beautifully drafted and incredibly flattering. It’s clear the designer paid attention to shaping, which gives the top a clean and elegant silhouette from behind. My only (minor) gripe? The sample garment shown in the instructions uses a very busy print, which unfortunately hides many of the thoughtful design details. If you’re new to the pattern, I recommend checking out the pattern testers photos to better appreciate its features. I used a lightweight cotton voile, which gave the top a lovely drape and made it especially comfortable for warmer weather. I’ll definitely be making another — and maybe playing around with more neckline or sleeve variations next time. I highly recommend this pattern – just be sure to choose a fabric that lets the details shine!
